Snaking to the start line
I wanted to make a pro-wrestling game. I have 10 pages of notes on this game. But that's the problem. If watching a bunch of devlog videos have taught me anything, it's that one must treat their dream game like a marathon. Especially when you have no idea what you are doing. So, instead of starting and closing godot the 100th time, I decided to make something simple. "Simple". Took me about 10 hours to make this much. But I know now the next game would be faster and eventually... DREAM GAME baby!
Currently the snake can move, eat food, collide with rocks to get a game over. But the crowing feature is the ability to bit itself and then... do something. The most obvious idea I had was to turn it's "unalived" body parts to rocks. The biggest thing lacking is a goal, I need to incorporate the act of biting into scoring somehow. Maybe lots of fruits get added to the screen and you have to maintain a ratio between your body and food in the world. Another idea is to play with the speed of the snake. Maybe it gets faster as it eats and you have to bite yourself to slow down.
